John Yettaw says he has no regrets about his secret swim to the home of Burma's detained democracy leader, saying he would do it again 'a hundred times'.
Yettaw spoke on Wednesday to The Associated Press before he boarded a plane from Chicago to Springfield, Missouri - his final stop on his journey home.
The 53-year-old Missouri man was sentenced to hard labour for visiting the home of Burmese democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi. Yettaw was deported on Sunday after a US senator intervened and won his release.
Yettaw has testified that he swam to Suu Kyi's house to warn her that he had a vision she would be assassinated.
He told AP that if he had to do it again, he would 'a hundred times to save her life'.
